Brands are experienced in the real world. Pop-ups, brand events, immersive experiences: brand activation takes your brand to where your audience lives and creates moments that linger in memory and live on through social media.

As a branding agency in Berlin with our own event space, the Open Space Berlin, we develop and produce brand activations for fashion, beauty, lifestyle and sport brands. From concept to production to digital extension on social media.

Brand Activations & Pop-Ups

Pop-up events are the format that connects physical brand experiences with digital reach. A successful pop-up generates not only visitors on-site but content that lives on social media and multiplies your reach.

For Bumble — Making the First Move, we conceived and produced a pop-up in Berlin that made the dating app a physical experience. The event generated hundreds of social media posts. Organic, not paid.

For Nude Project — Berlin Pop-Up, we turned the Berlin launch of the Spanish streetwear label into a community event that anchored the brand in Berlin's street style scene.

Further pop-up projects: Wasted Paris Berlin Pop-Up, Hinge Pop-Up Event Berlin.

Brand Experience Design

Brand experiences go beyond traditional events. They create immersive brand worlds that engage all the senses and build deep emotional connections with the brand.

For Goldwell — Transformania, we created a brand experience that made the beauty brand physically tangible. An immersive installation that brought brand, product and community together.

Brand experience design includes:

  • Immersive installations and brand worlds
  • Interactive elements that engage visitors
  • Multi-sensory experiences (not just visual)
  • Content opportunities that generate social media reach

POP-UP CONCEPTION

From idea to finished concept: we develop pop-up formats that make your brand physically tangible while simultaneously functioning as a content machine for social media.

EVENT DESIGN

Spaces that tell your brand story. We design events that are strategically derived from your brand identity. Every detail is brand communication.

EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING

Immersive brand experiences that go beyond traditional events. Multi-sensory, interactive and designed so that visitors become content creators.

DIGITAL-PHYSICAL INTEGRATION

Every physical event is extended digitally. We conceive the social media strategy in parallel with the activation: creator content, live coverage, UGC mechanics.

BRAND PARTNERSHIPS

Collaborations that multiply reach. We identify and realize brand partnerships that create value for both sides and unlock new audiences.

PRODUCTION & LOGISTICS

From location to catering to technology: we produce your activation end-to-end. And with the Open Space Berlin, we have our own venue right in Berlin-Mitte.

Brand Events & Activations

We create brand moments that live in culture. An event agency organizes gatherings. We develop experiences that physically execute your brand strategy and extend it digitally.

What sets us apart from a traditional event agency:

  • We start with brand strategy, not catering
  • Every event is a content opportunity for social media
  • We think digital-first: how does the event live on online?
  • Creators and influencers are part of the activation, not just guests

For Adidas — Berlin Marathon 2025, we developed a brand activation that connected sport, community and Berlin culture. Live on-site and across all social media channels.

For The North Face — Summit Series Berlin, we executed a brand activation that brought outdoor culture to Berlin.

Guerilla Marketing

Sometimes brands need to show up where nobody expects them. Guerilla marketing creates surprising brand moments in public space. Attention-grabbing, shareable, unforgettable.

For fashion and lifestyle brands, guerilla marketing is especially effective because it signals authenticity and culture. It says: we are part of this city, not just advertisers.

Open Space Berlin — Our Activation Location

The Open Space Berlin is our own event space in Berlin-Mitte and an unfair advantage. Instead of renting external venues, we can produce brand activations right here: faster, more flexible and with full creative control.

Past activations at the Open Space: Bumble, Nude Project, Daniel Wellington, Lime, Goldwell.

FAQ

What is brand activation?

Brand activation is the strategic discipline of making a brand directly tangible through physical or digital experiences. Pop-ups, brand events, immersive installations, guerilla actions and experiential marketing formats take your brand off the screen and into the real world, enabling direct interaction with your audience. The critical difference from traditional advertising: brand activation generates active participation rather than passive consumption. According to EventTrack (2025), 91% of consumers feel more positively about brands they have experienced in person, and 85% are more likely to purchase after a brand activation.

Brand activation vs. advertising — what is the difference?

Advertising communicates a message to your audience: one-directional, passive, often ignored. Brand activation creates experiences in which your audience actively participates. Interactive, emotional, unforgettable. Brand activation lets people feel why your brand matters. In a world averaging over 10,000 advertising messages per day, physical brand experiences offer an unfair advantage: they break through the attention barrier, create genuine emotional connections and generate organic social media content that multiplies reach. For Bumble, a single pop-up event generated hundreds of organic social media posts. No ad budget can buy that authenticity.

What is the difference between an event agency and a brand activation agency?

An event agency organizes gatherings: logistics, catering, technology and scheduling. A brand activation agency develops brand experiences that are strategically derived from the brand identity and pursue measurable marketing goals. The difference lies in the starting point: we start with the brand strategy, not the catering menu. Every event is a content opportunity for social media, every detail is brand communication, and creators are part of the activation, not just names on the guest list.

Brand activation examples — what are typical formats?

The most effective brand activation formats for fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands include: pop-up stores and events (like our Nude Project Berlin Pop-Up, a community hangout that anchored the brand in Berlin's street style scene), immersive brand experiences (like Goldwell Transformania, a two-day workshop-meets-playground event), 360-degree campaigns with a physical component (like Adidas Berlin Marathon 2025, from hero film to DOOH to wild postings), brand partnerships and collaborations, and guerilla marketing actions in public space. All formats share one principle: physical experience with digital extension.

What is experiential marketing?

Experiential marketing is a marketing approach that creates direct, interactive brand experiences instead of sending passive advertising messages. Your audience experiences the brand firsthand: through events, installations, pop-ups, immersive spaces or interactive digital formats. Experiential marketing engages all senses, creates deep emotional connections and transforms visitors into content creators who organically share the experience on social media. For Goldwell Transformania, we applied this approach: a multi-sensory brand experience that generated more digital reach than any traditional campaign.

Brand activation on social media: How do you extend events digitally?

The digital extension determines the ROI of a brand activation. Our approach: the social media strategy is conceived in parallel with the activation, not after the fact. Specifically, this includes: creator briefings and influencer integration as part of the event concept, UGC mechanics (photo opportunities, hashtag walls, shareable moments), live coverage on Instagram Stories and TikTok, professional on-site content capture (photo, video, behind-the-scenes) and a post-event content calendar. For Bumble, this strategy generated hundreds of organic posts. For Adidas, we produced hyper-local social stories that turned the Berlin Marathon into a city-wide digital narrative.

How do you plan a brand event?

Every successful brand event starts with the "why": What should the event achieve for the brand? From this strategic core, we derive audience, format, location, timing, content strategy and KPIs. Typical planning lead time is 8-12 weeks, following four phases: conception (briefing, creative concept, budget), planning (location, partners, creator casting, production), execution (event production, content capture, live coverage) and follow-up (content distribution, reporting, KPI analysis). With the Open Space Berlin, our own event space in Berlin-Mitte, we can additionally shorten lead times and guarantee maximum creative control.

How do you measure the success of a brand activation?

Brand activation success is measured across six core metrics: visitor numbers and dwell time (physical engagement), social media reach and impressions (organically generated, not paid), earned media value (what would the coverage have cost as paid advertising?), content output (quantity and quality of created assets), brand sentiment (qualitative analysis of reactions), and for sales activations, direct revenue and lead generation. We define KPIs before the event and deliver detailed post-event reporting. Contact us to plan your next activation.

Do you have your own event venue?

Yes. The Open Space Berlin is our own event space in Berlin-Mitte and an unfair advantage for our clients. Instead of renting external venues, we can produce brand activations right here: faster, more flexibly and with full creative control. Past activations at the Open Space include projects for Bumble, Nude Project, Daniel Wellington, Lime and Goldwell. The space can be flexibly configured for pop-ups, brand events, workshops and immersive installations.
